National Day of Prayer 2014

Today marks the 63rd Annual National Day of Prayer.  I encourage you today to join the hundreds of thousands of Americans  who will be assembling across the nation.  If you can just get down on your knees at home today and lift up our nation, our leaders, our schools, and our families in prayer, Satan trembles at the sight of a person on their knees bowing and prayers being offered up to the throne of God.  But don’t stop today, pray every day.

This years theme is “One Voice United in Prayer” and the theme verse is Romans 15:6 “So that with one mind and one voice you may florify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

May we all be  united with our voices in prayer today!  Please join me in praying for our national, state, and local leaders, our schools, family, media, and our military.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,  for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

One of my favorite presidents, Abraham Lincoln is quoted:  “I turn, then, and look to the American people and to that God who has never forsaken them.”

Here is a beautiful prayer by one of my favorite women, Beth Moore authored in 2009 as a prayer for our nation.  If you don’t know how to pray here is a perfect one to pray today or this evening.
