LEAVE The Lights On – It’s October 31st

31 Oct

How about you?  Are you leaving the lights on this year.  We are, oh yes we are.  Why you say?  Christians should not be participating in Halloween – witches, goblins, evil.  While that may be true, this is the one night of the year that we as Christians will have more people knocking on our doors  than any other time of the year.

We are going to be lights.  We will be opening our door and welcoming children and their family and passing out not only some candy, but some encouraging verses I have printed out.    printableshalloween-5

Feel free to print out these free printables and show Christ tonight – be a light welcoming and don’t be that house with the lights off.

I love giving things that aren’t candy. There are so many good choices to give instead. We participate in the evening, we don’t dress scary though and it becomes a family time for us. I have given our pencils with verses on them before and also erasers. There is so much you can do with your idea. I love it.

Thanks Patty. Next year I’m going to the Christian bookstore to buy some things.

We participated. It was a time of getting to know new classmates and their parents. It is hard to talk to the kids about the dark sides. What it is really about but we will also be talking about All Saints Day tomorrow and celebrating them. One useful thing we gave out were little LED lights to help the kids light their paths.
