Morning Stirring – Coffee Date with My Lord

14 Jan

coffee cup

I love stirring out of bed in the morning thanking God for waking me yet another day, washing my face, making the bed, and heading to the kitchen to get a bit of breakfast ready, and stir that first cup of coffee with a little bit of stevia and some fat-free whip cream or a little bit of gingerbread creamer this time of the year.

blog-heart coffeea

I take that cup of coffee, sit down on the sofa, and delve into some kind of Bible study. I keep saying I am going to call someone over for coffee with me some morning, but as I pause and think about it, I do have a guest every morning – my Lord.  Not only is He my guest, but He is my date.  I love that – morning dates with my Lord having a cup of coffee together.  My cup overflows with His blessings.

Right now I am reading through the Word chronologically with Wendy Pope and a group of ladies using the One Year Chronological Bible, NLT and, of course, it is the Large Print Edition.  In a couple of weeks I am starting a study with Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies called Keep It Shut by Karen Ehman.

Stir my heart Lord as I stir my coffee each morning.

I have mixed feelings about this…I have limited my coffee in the mornings now…I know, its REALLY sad! Instead, I am down to 3-4 frozen coffee ice-cubes thrown into a protein smoothie after I run. That really changed my morning routine! So, I LOVE your post dear friend, just cant wait to enjoy some real HOT coffee again…sometime soon! SO glad we are keeping in contact! P31 sisters and writers…how awesome is that?!

Hey lady. I clicked your link here on my page and it goes to your old one with a link, but it didn’t work. There was a comma or some punctuation after the com. I copied what you have there and took it out and it worked.

What a beautiful thought! I love ”Having tea with Jesus” in the mornings as I call it… It is a time to thank and praise Him as well as a time to hear His voice… Thank you for sharing:). Visiting from The Art of Homemaking Mondays today…

Can I tweet one of your memes and put it on my author wall on Facebook? I would keep it as is so it refers back to your site with your web site url on there. It’s okay if you say no.
