#write31days, Bible Study, Encouragement, Faith, Inspiration

I think I’ve been studying most of my life – school, work, college and now even in retirement.  I love to read.  I love Bible studies, and I wish I had more hours in the day to just grab a book and read for fun.  Most of my fun reading is done when I am on a treadmill.  Needless to say,s I don’t get much fun reading done and by that I mean those fiction historical novels.

I used to be afraid of Bible studies.  I remember my first on-line study with Proverbs 31, and how frightened I was when I joined my first Facebook Bible study group for the study I Used To Be So Organized.  I can also remember my first one at church and how I thought everyone would know more than me because many of them had been raised in the church. Sometimes they do know more than me, but that’s okay.   It’s a study right, and we share and learn from each other.  I’ve learned that whatever study I am in that it is fun and I love meeting new ladies at all different stages of life.  I’ve also learned unless you take a leap and try it you will never grow.

I love the on-line Bible studies because I can fit them in my schedule.  They are there 24/7 and actually the past studies I have already done are in the files at Proverbs 31 here.  You can go back and go through every study they have ever done.  BINGO!

This year I’ve done numerous studies at church and home so I’ll share those below if I can remember them all.  God has spoken to me “BIG” in all of these studies.  My books are so highlighted, and it would be hard to say which was my favorite because each one has impacted my life and touched my heart.

Studies at Church this Year

Battle Plan For Prayer by Alex and Stephen Kendrick  This was a wonderful study on prayer with videos and my husband and I did it together.  LifeWay shares a sample of Session 1 – the first week which includes Prayer 101 of the book here.    I highly recommend this book and study.

Open Your Bible by Amanda Bible Williams and Raechel Myers

  1. I love to study too but can take on too much! And I love to read too, and again, end up having to return books to the library before finishing! I’m getting better though, and learning it is much more about quality rather than quality. There is so much good stuff out there, I need God’s hand in discernment to pick what’s next. You are doing great on this 31 day writing challenge. Congrats!

    1. Lynn I love how you said there is so much good stuff. Yes, there is too much good stuff and I’ll have to remember to ask God’s hand in discerning in the future what I should select rather than what me is screaming to select. HA! Truth here.

  2. Reading is the one thing I have put on the back burner this year. I’ve picked up books at the library and even bought a couple, but life gets in the way. Debbie, this is a great list of Bible studies and books. Thanks for sharing them with Thankful Thursdays.

    1. Thank you Lori and thank you for Thankful Thursdays. I can understand the back burner. I would get few read if I were not in the Bible studies.

    1. I love the on-line ones. Sometimes the night ones at church are difficult to get to each week. I try but usually miss one or two.
