EB, Encouragement, Faith, Kate Matoung Five-Minute Friday

Joining Kate Motaung at #FiveMinuteFriday.  We write for five minutes and the word this week is surrender.

“Saying yes to God isn’t about perfect performance, but rather perfect surrender to the Lord day by day.”  Lysa Terkeurst

I read that quote in a Bible Study some time ago called, Yes To God.  During that study our first grandchild was born, and he was born with a horrible disease.  I wrote during that study about my “yes” story which was about that walk, and later updated it to participate in a blog link-up.

I would be honored if you go read my story here, His story, but first an update since August 2013.  Our kids have suffered a lot.   We watched our daughter and our daughter-in-law suffer through infertility, miscarriages including loss of a set of twins and loss of one twin, and three or four other miscarriages.  It’s been hard, it’s been surrender to Him spending hours in prayer, claiming His promises, and trusting.  When your kids hurt, you hurt.

Today we have five grandchildren – did you hear that?  God has blessed us over and over, and just this past year three grandchildren were born in March – a set of twin boys and a baby girl.  My heart overflows with joy.

Update on Colt – His disease seems to be under control.  He gets sores but they heal.  His story is supposed to be different, but God’s story ALWAYS trumps supposed to be.

We have four grandsons, and one granddaughter four and under.  It’s a whole lot of fun around here when they are all together.  That little boy crying is always smiling – well most always he had had it – it was time to eat.  Colt is the oldest one there.

I was hoping to get a new picture of all the kids tonight, but my husband has come down with what may be the flu so we are missing the 2 year olds third birthday party.  Sorry sweet Cal.

I’m also joining these other link-ups this week:
