Monthly Reflections – March 2018

As I drove through the neighborhood a few weeks ago, I noticed all the Bradford Pear trees blooming in their glory.

Daffodils are coming up.

Bushes have flowers

Fruit trees have blooms.

AND the bluebird nest has eggs.  Can’t wait to see them fly.

It’s the time of year that winter can tease us.  I’ve seen it so many times before – the fruit trees bloom, and bam it comes a freeze or a hail storm and we have no fruit that year.  Fruit has been sparse the last two years.  We had some good rains in March and some beautiful days.  It’s April 2 today and we woke up to 42 degrees, but it will be in the 80s again soon.

LOVE MORE

LOVE this time of year when Spring is springing.

LOVE the magnificent sunrises.

LAUGHING MORE

My husband was bathing our 3-year old grandson, Cal and he picked up a bar of soap and while he was handling it he said, “this is slickery”.  I love that word and love that boy.

LEARNING MORE

Finished our study on I Am Loved, but I’ve been slow in finishing up my weekly posts.  One more after this one.  Links below for the first three weeks.

LIVING MORE

This month we celebrated three of our grandkids birthdays.  It was their first.  What fun watching the twins eat cake – one had it all over his face, one dug both hands in, and the our granddaughter enjoyed a finger at a time.

LATELY I’VE BEEN

I have enjoyed spring break.  I still had the grands a few days, but two days I had by myself to clean and organize a bit.  I cleaned out under one of the bathroom sinks, and all the drawers, and worked on an upstairs closet, and a little on my office desk.  So much to do but slowly working on getting organized so I can enjoy life a little less stressful.  Can’t wait for the summer to have some days to work hard.

I also met an old friend I used to work with for lunch.  Can you believe we sit there for 4.5 hours non-stop talking?

I took our oldest grandson (4 years old) for a special day we call them.  He is just so happy playing with the Thomas the Train set at Barnes and Noble.  We walked around the mall and just enjoyed the day.  He loves the fountain and tossed a few pennies in.  Left there and played at Chick Fil A.

And this weekend we made the trip to the deer lease so the guys could turkey hunt.  I stayed in the cabin with these sweeties.

LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

April around here is fun.

It’s turkey season so the family makes several trips to our deer lease.

It’s not only my son’s birthday, but also our daughter-in-law’s.

I’m taking a photography class.  Not only that – it’s a class on photographing bluebonnets. Can’t wait to share with you in some future posts.  It will be a mini-vacation for me.  I’m hoping to stop in Waco on the way for my third trip to Magnolia Farms and perhaps it won’t be so crowded.

LOOKING BACK TO PREVIOUS MONTHS

See my Monthly Reflections posts for January and February.

  1. Oh such beautiful signs of spring! I can hope that it will slowly make it’s way up north to Wisconsin then! I love Texas bluebonnets, so I am looking forward to seeing some of the samples from your photography class. Happy Springtime to you!

  2. Have a great time at your photography class! I look forward to those pictures. Looks like you have had had so much bonding time with your grandkids and I’m a bit envious of the fountain shot where there is no boots or winter jackets (as we still have snow and really cold temperatures this spring). My niece ‘n law makes those type of posters that are behind the babes in the high chairs. They are sweet!
